Recommended image hosting providers
Hosts that work well with TailTwistArt's link-only model, including direct-URL support and hotlink/CORS tips.
TailTwistArt never stores image files, so the right host makes the difference between a gallery that loads instantly and one full of broken links.
- Bunny.net Storage + CDN — affordable, simple CORS headers, and direct URLs with custom domains.
- Cloudflare R2 — zero egress fees, S3-compatible, and a generous free tier. Good for high-traffic galleries.
- Backblaze B2 — very cheap object storage. Pair it with Cloudflare for better hotlinking and no egress charges.
- Wasabi — flat-rate pricing, no egress fees, and S3-compatible. Use with a CDN for best performance.
- AWS S3 + CloudFront — extremely reliable, but costs can scale with bandwidth. Set CORS on the bucket.
- DigitalOcean Spaces — S3-compatible, fixed monthly pricing, and includes a CDN.
- Your own VPS or dedicated server — full control, but make sure hotlink protection is off and CORS headers are set for images.
Avoid Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive sharing links. They point to viewer pages, not the image file itself, so the pre-flight check will fail.
For any host, you need a direct file URL ending in .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .webp. If your host blocks hotlinking or doesn't send CORS headers, your posts will show the broken-link placeholder.
